Welcome to the LocalWise Billing and Payments guide. We believe that empowering local economies means staying out of your pocket. LocalWise operates as a connection engine—a digital bridge between local customers and skilled professionals.

To ensure complete transparency and to comply with local regulations and app store policies, please carefully read how payments and billing work on our platform.

1. Zero Commission Policy (For Services)

LocalWise is fiercely committed to helping local professionals grow. We do not charge a commission or percentage fee on any local service booked through our platform. * When a customer hires a plumber, makeup artist, tutor, or any other professional found on LocalWise, 100% of the agreed-upon payment goes directly to the professional.

We do not act as a middleman, broker, or escrow agent for your hard-earned money.

2. Direct Off-Platform Payments

Because LocalWise is exclusively a discovery platform, we do not process payments for physical services within the app.

Accepted Methods: Customers and Professionals must agree on the payment method directly. This typically includes Cash, direct UPI transfers (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), or direct Bank Transfers upon the completion of a service.

No In-App Wallets: LocalWise does not feature an in-app wallet, nor do we hold balances on behalf of users or professionals.

3. Refunds, Cancellations, and Disputes

Because no service payments flow through LocalWise servers, we cannot issue refunds, mediate financial disputes, or enforce cancellations between a Customer and a Professional.

Agreements: All service agreements, pricing quotes, and guarantees are strictly between the Customer and the Pro. We highly recommend confirming prices, material costs, and timings in writing before work begins.

Dispute Resolution: In the event of a disagreement regarding service quality, incomplete work, or payment, both parties must resolve the issue independently. LocalWise bears no legal or financial liability for disputes arising from off-platform transactions.

Platform Action: While we cannot recover funds, we heavily rely on community moderation. If a professional engages in fraudulent billing practices or fails to deliver promised services, customers are encouraged to use the Report and Block features. We reserve the right to permanently ban users who exploit the community.

4. Flash Deals & Promotional Codes

Professionals utilizing the "Special Offers" feature in their VIP Feed may post discounts or coupon codes (eg, "20% OFF with code WINTER20").

No Platform Guarantee: LocalWise provides the software for Pros to broadcast these deals, but we do not underwrite or guarantee them.

Honoring Deals: It is the Professional's sole responsibility to honor any active deals posted to their VIP Feed. Customers must mention the coupon code to the professional before the final bill is calculated.

5. Premium App Features & In-App Purchases (If Applicable)

While basic directory listing and discovery are free, LocalWise may offer optional digital features for professionals to boost their reach (eg, Premium Verification Badges, Spotlight placements, or advanced Visual Studio tools).

Google Play Billing: If you choose to purchase digital upgrades within the app, these transactions are processed securely through Google Play Billing (for Android).

Digital Refunds: Payments for digital in-app features are generally non-refundable unless required by law or Google Play Store policies. You may manage or cancel active digital subscriptions directly through your Google Play Store account settings.

6. Fraud Prevention & Warning

Your financial security is paramount. Please adhere to the following safety protocols:

  • Never share sensitive data: LocalWise will never call, text, or email you asking for your bank account numbers, passwords, or UPI PINs.
  • Beware of "Platform Fees": If a Professional claims you must pay a "LocalWise Connection Fee" to unlock their services, they are scamming you. Please report them immediately.
  • Verify before paying: Do not pay large advances for services before verifying the identity of the professional and ensuring they have arrived at your location to begin work.

7. Tax Compliance

Professionals utilizing LocalWise to source clients are acting as independent business entities.

LocalWise is not an employer, and we do not withhold taxes on behalf of any professional.

All Professionals are solely responsible for calculating, collecting, and remitting any applicable local, state, or federal taxes (such as GST) associated with the services they provide to customers found via LocalWise.
