At LocalWise, our mission is to create a seamless digital bridge between community members and skilled local professionals. A thriving local network relies heavily on mutual trust, respect, and safety.

While LocalWise acts as a neutral connecting platform and does not directly employ the professionals listed, we are deeply committed to maintaining a secure digital environment. We have implemented strict guidelines and robust in-app tools to empower our community.

Please read these guidelines carefully. By using LocalWise, you agree to uphold these standards.

1. Zero-Tolerance UGC Policy (User-Generated Content)

To keep LocalWise safe and welcoming for everyone, we maintain a strict, zero-tolerance policy against objectionable content. Whether you are posting a Visual Story, a Quick Status, a Special Offer, or updating your profile, the following behaviors and content are strictly prohibited:

Explicit Content: No sexually explicit imagery, pornography, or suggestive content.

Hate Speech & Harassment: No content that promotes violence, discrimination, bullying, or harassment against any individual or group based on race, religion, gender, orientation, or nationality.

Fraud & Scams: No misleading services, bait-and-switch pricing, fake coupon codes, or fraudulent business claims.

Illegal Activities: No promotion or facilitation of illegal acts, unauthorized goods, or dangerous services.

Violation of this policy will result in immediate content removal and permanent account suspension.

2. Your In-App Safety Tools

We empower our users to self-moderate their experience. If you encounter a profile, story, or post that makes you uncomfortable or violates our guidelines, you have immediate tools at your disposal:

The "Block" Feature: Located in the 3-dot menu ( ...) on every Pro's profile and Feed Card. Tapping "Block" instantly and permanently hides that professional from your VIP Feed, Discover page, and search results. They will no longer be able to interact with you.

The "Report" Feature: Also located in the 3-dot menu. Use this to flag inappropriate content, fake profiles, or abusive behavior directly to our Trust & Safety Team.

Our Moderation Pledge: LocalWise actively monitors platform reports. We pledge to review flagged content promptly (typically within 24 hours) and take decisive action, up to and including permanent device and account bans for bad actors.

3. Real-World Safety Tips for Customers

While LocalWise provides the platform to discover professionals, the actual service takes place in the real world. We equip you with the tools to make informed decisions, but we ask that you practice standard safety precautions:

Review the Trust Score: Look for professionals who have built a solid reputation in the community. Read their profile descriptions and note their primary service areas.

Verify Identity: When a professional arrives at your home or workplace, you have the right to ask for a basic form of identification or a business card to confirm they are the person you connected with on LocalWise.

Agree on Terms Before Work Begins: Clearly discuss the scope of work, material costs, and final pricing before the professional begins the job.

Never Pay in Advance for Unseen Work: LocalWise does not process payments. Be extremely cautious if a professional demands a large upfront payment via UPI or bank transfer before arriving at your location.

4. Professionalism & Safety Tips for Pros

If you are using LocalWise to grow your business, you represent the quality of our community.

Be Authentic: Ensure your business name, category, and visual stories accurately represent the services you provide.

Honor Your Deals: If you publish a "Special Offer" or a "Quick Status" to your followers, you are expected to honor those prices and availability. Misleading your followers is considered platform abuse.

Protect Your Privacy: You don't need to share your home address if you run a mobile service (like plumbing or tutoring). Listing your general neighborhood or colony is enough to help locals find you.

Maintain Professional Boundaries: Use the Visual Story Studio and Quick Status features to highlight your work, share local announcements, or offer deals. Do not use these features for personal social networking or inappropriate sharing.

5. The Shared Responsibility Model

LocalWise is an intermediary technology platform. This means we provide the software that allows you to discover and communicate with local services.

The Digital Space: We take full responsibility for keeping the app free of digital abuse, removing violating content, and banning fraudulent accounts based on community reports.

The Physical Space: Any contract, service guarantee, or financial transaction is strictly a private agreement between the Customer and the Professional. LocalWise cannot be held legally or financially liable for real-world disputes, incomplete services, property damage, or payment disagreements.

By working together—using the Block and Report tools, communicating clearly, and treating each other with respect—we can build the safest and most reliable neighborhood network possible.
