We have engineered LocalWise to be intuitive, fast, and completely commission-free. This comprehensive guide will walk you through everything you need to know to get the most out of the platform, tailored for both customers and professionals .

LocalWise is designed to make local discovery effortless. No more relying on outdated flyers or asking around in neighborhood group chats. Here is how to navigate the app as a user.

1. Setting Your Location

To ensure you only see relevant professionals who actually serve your area, the app relies on geographic filtering.

Auto-Detect: When you open the app, you can allow GPS permissions to auto-detect your current colony, neighborhood, or city.

Manual Entry: If you are searching for services for a different location (eg, booking a cleaner for your parents' house), you can manually set your location at the top of the Home Screen.

2. The Discover Tab (Your Local Directory)

The Discover Screen is your main hub for finding new professionals.

Smart Search: Use the frosted-glass search bar at the top to type exactly what you need (eg, "AC Repair," "Event Photographer," or a specific business name).

Category Chips: Don't want to type? Tap on our vibrant category icons to instantly filter the network. Categories include Beauty, Carpenter, Cleaning, Cooking, Driver, Electrical, Mechanic, Moving, Painter, Pest Control, Plumbing, and Tutor .

Trusted by the Community: We highlight professionals with high Trust Scores based on community feedback. Look for the green "Verified" badge.

New in LocalWise: Discover fresh, up-and-coming businesses that have just joined your local network.

3. The VIP Feed (Your Exclusive Neighborhood Timeline)

We don't just want you to find a professional once; we want you to build a trusted network. When you find a Pro you like or have hired before, click the "Follow" button on their profile.

Once you follow a Pro, they are added to your VIP Feed (accessible via the bottom navigation bar). The VIP Feed gives you exclusive access to:

Recent Stories: Tap the colorful glowing rings at the top of your feed to watch 24-hour visual updates from your favorite pros. See their latest projects, behind-the-scenes work, or daily announcements in a full-screen, auto-playing viewer.

Exclusive Follower Deals: Keep an eye out for the green ticket-style "Special Offers" marquee. Pros drop flash sales and secret coupon codes here that only their followers can see.

Live Updates (Quick Statuses): Look for the amber "LIVE" lightning bolt. This means a Pro has just posted an immediate availability ping (eg, "A client cancelled, I am free for the next 2 hours in South Colony!" ).

Followers Feed: Scroll down to see regular updates, price lists, and standard text posts from your network.

4. Trust & Safety Controls

You are always in control of your feed. If a professional posts irrelevant content or you no longer wish to see their updates, tap the 3-dot menu on any of their posts or their profile. From here, you can Unfollow , Block , or Report them instantly.

LocalWise provides you with enterprise-grade marketing tools at absolutely zero cost. We take 0% commission on your jobs. Our goal is simply to give you the software to reach your neighborhood.

1. Setting Up Your Business Profile

When you register as a Professional, take the time to fill out your profile completely.

Brand Colors: Choose a brand color in your settings. The app will automatically generate beautiful gradients across your cards and story rings based on your chosen color!

Search Tags: Go to your Marketing & Reach Dashboard and add up to 10 specific keywords (eg, "Bridal Makeup", "Pipe Leak", "10th Grade Math"). When users type these words in the Discover tab, your profile will appear.

2. The Marketing & Reach Dashboard

This is your command center. You no longer have to pay for local ads; you just need to build a following and use these three powerful tools:

A. Quick Status (The "Live" Ping)

Need work today? Use the Quick Status tool. Type a short, punchy message (Max 50 characters). It will instantly push to your followers' VIP Feed with an urgent, amber "LIVE NOW" badge.

Example: "Available right now for emergency plumbing!"

Note: This auto-deletes after 24 hours to keep the feed fresh.

B. Special Offers

Reward your loyal customers. Create a Special Offer by adding a Title and an optional Coupon Code.

Example Title: "20% OFF Winter AC Servicing"

Example Code: "WINTER20" This creates a beautiful green discount ticket at the very top of your followers' VIP Feed.

C. The Visual Story Studio

Stand out from the competition using our built-in Drag & Drop Story Studio.

Choose a vibrant background gradient.

Tap the Text tool to write announcements.

Tap the Sticker tool to add engaging icons (Stars, Fire, Tools, Discounts).

Tap the Color Palette to create custom gradients for your text.

Drag, drop, and resize elements with your fingers. (Tip: Use the "Lock Screen" toggle to prevent the canvas from moving while you design!).

Hit Publish . Your followers will see a colorful ring around your profile picture. When they tap it, your customized poster will play on their screen!

3. Growing Your Network

The VIP Feed only works if you have followers. When you finish a job in real life, ask your customer to follow you on LocalWise!

Use the "Invite Now" button on your dashboard to instantly share your profile link via WhatsApp or SMS.

Let customers scan your Personal QR Code directly from your sharing screen so they can follow you with one tap.

Does LocalWise charge a commission on jobs? No. LocalWise is 100% free for both users and professionals. We do not handle bookings, and we do not take a cut of your hard-earned money.

How do payments work? All payments are handled directly between the Customer and the Professional in the real world (via Cash, UPI, Bank Transfer, etc.). LocalWise does not process payments or hold funds in escrow.

Why did a Pro's Story or Status disappear? To ensure the platform always shows real-time, accurate information, all "Visual Stories" and "Quick Statuses" automatically expire and delete themselves 24 hours after they are posted.
