The Complete Guide to Navigating Your Local Network

Welcome to the official LocalWise User Manual. LocalWise is a next-generation local discovery platform designed to bridge the gap between community members and skilled local professionals. Because we believe in empowering local economies, LocalWise charges absolutely zero commissions on your jobs or bookings.

This manual is divided into two primary sections: The Customer Experience (for users looking to hire) and The Professional Experience (for businesses looking to grow).

Part 1: The Customer Experience

Finding a reliable local professional shouldn't be hard. LocalWise uses smart location tracking and direct-feed technology to show you exactly who is working near you right now.

1. Setting Your Location

To get started, LocalWise needs to know where to look.

GPS Auto-Detect: Tap the location pin icon at the top of your screen to allow LocalWise to automatically find your current colony or neighborhood.

Manual Location: If you are booking a service for someone else (like a family member across town), you can manually type and select a specific area. You will immediately see the feed update with professionals operating in that specific zone.

2. The Discover Tab (Searching for Services)

The Discover screen is your powerful, frosted-glass search engine.

Search Bar: Type exactly what you need (eg, "Plumber," "Bridal Makeup," "Math Tutor"). The app will instantly filter local pros based on your keywords.

Quick Categories: Tap on any of the colorful circular icons (Cleaning, Electrical, Moving, etc.) to view everyone in that category.

Dynamic Sections: Scroll down to view curated lists, including:

Recently Viewed: Easily jump back to a profile you were looking at earlier.

Recommended For You: Based on your area and community interactions.

Trusted by Community: Pros with the highest Trust Scores.

New in LocalWise: Give a warm welcome to the newest businesses in your area.

3. The VIP Feed (Your Follower Dashboard)

When you find a professional you trust, hit Follow on their profile. This adds them to your VIP Feed — a dedicated, ad-light timeline showing you exclusive updates from your favorite businesses.

Here is what you will see in the VIP Feed:

Recent Stories (The Colored Rings): At the top of the feed, you will see circular profile pictures with vibrant gradients. Tap them to view full-screen, 24-hour visual updates. To pause a story, hold your finger on the screen. Once you have watched a story, the ring will turn a pale gray so you know you're caught up.

Exclusive Deals (The Green Tickets): Scroll past the stories to find the "Exclusive Follower Deals" marquee. Here, pros post flash sales and secret promo codes exclusively for their followers.

Live Updates (The Amber Lightning Bolt): If a Pro has a sudden opening or an urgent update, it will appear here as a "Quick Status" with a "LIVE" badge.

The Main Feed: Standard text updates, service announcements, and price list changes appear in the beautiful, shadow-elevated cards below.

4. Managing Your Network

Unfollowing: Tap the 3-dot menu ( ...) on any post in your VIP feed to easily unfollow a Pro.

Sharing: Want to recommend a Pro to a neighbor? Open their profile, tap the "Share" icon, and the app will generate a beautiful custom poster with a QR code and a direct link ( localwise.in/u/username) to send via WhatsApp or SMS.

Part 2: The Professional Experience

LocalWise equips you with enterprise-level marketing tools directly on your phone. No advertising budget required.

1. Your Profile & Brand Identity

Your profile is your digital storefront.

Brand Colors: In your profile settings, select your primary brand color. LocalWise's UI engine will automatically generate custom gradients, shadows, and story rings that match your brand perfectly.

Trust Score: Your Trust Score grows organically as you receive positive interactions from the community. A higher score boosts your visibility on the Discover page.

2. The Marketing & Reach Studio

To access your tools, go to your profile and open the Marketing & Reach dashboard. Here, you have four incredibly powerful ways to ping your followers:

A. Business Search Tags

Add up to 10 specific keywords related to your business (eg, "Water Heater Repair", "Wedding Photography"). When customers search these exact words, your profile will rank higher.

B. Quick Status (24hr Live Ping)

Have a sudden cancellation? Open for emergency calls? Use the Quick Status tool.

Type a short message (up to 50 characters).

It instantly pushes to your followers' VIP Feed with an urgent amber lightning bolt design.

It automatically deletes after 24 hours. You can also manually remove it early using the "Remove" button.

C. Special Offers

Reward the people who follow you. Add a title (eg, "10% off today only") and an optional Coupon Code. This will generate a premium green discount ticket that sits at the very top of your followers' feeds.

D. The Visual Story Studio

Don't just tell customers what you do—show them. Use our advanced Drag & Drop Canvas to create stunning, 24-hour full-screen updates.

Backgrounds: Swipe through the bottom circles to choose a solid color or vibrant gradient background.

Add Elements: Tap the "Text" or "Sticker" buttons.

Lock Canvas: Toggle on "Lock Screen to Edit Canvas." This prevents your phone screen from scrolling up and down while you are trying to drag your stickers around!

Custom Gradients: Tap a text element, then tap multiple colors from the palette to instantly apply a beautiful gradient to your words.

Scale & Size: Select an element and use the slider bar to make it larger or smaller.

Publish: Hit "Publish Story." Your followers will instantly see a glowing ring around your profile picture. Note: You can only have one active story at a time. Publishing a new one will overwrite the old one.

3. Community Safety & Moderation

LocalWise relies on a self-moderating community. We do not tolerate fraudulent profiles, inappropriate imagery, or abusive language in Stories or Updates.

Blocking: If a user or professional is bothering you, tap the 3-dot menu and hit "Block." You will never see them again.

Reporting: Use the "Report" feature to flag dangerous or illegal content directly to our moderation team. Violators will be permanently banned from the platform.

4. Payments & Transactions

LocalWise is a connection engine, not a bank. We do not process payments. * When you hire a Pro, you must negotiate the price and pay them directly via Cash, UPI, or external Bank Transfer.

Warning: LocalWise will never ask for your banking passwords, OTPs, or demand a "platform fee" to unlock a professional's contact info.
